We use a free Wikispaces account, so there is very limited space to host images or videos, so we need to know how to deal with them. Here are the instructions.

(1) Images on the web
(a) Make sure we have the image open (not just the link in Google, and copy the URL (web address) of the image
(b) Click on “edit” (top left corner) on our wiki page
(c) Click the curser, on your wiki page, where you want to insert the image
(d) Click on the “file” tab (sort of top leftish)
(e) Click on the “external file” tab
(f) Paste in URL and click on the load

(2) Your own images
Initially you can upload them directly from your computer to Wikispaces via the upload image and from computer options. This is easy and quick. Once the allocated space is full, you will then have to follow the instructions below…

(a) Save the image on Mediafire (see (4) further down this page)
(b) Once your image has uploaded to Mediafire, right click on the image and click on properties. Copy all the address in the properties box (NOTE – this should end in .jpg most of the time)
(c) In Wikispaces (when editing) click on images, and then on external image and paste in the address that you just copied.

(3) Videos from the web
(a) Look for the embed code on the page of your video. It may be tricky to find, but you need it.
(b) Click on edit (top left corner) on our wiki page
(c) Click on your wiki page where you want to insert the video
(d) Click the widget tab
(e) Click on the video tab

(c) Select on the ”UNIS G09 R2 Bio” folder and then click on the “upload to this folder button”
(d) Following the instructions on the website to upload your images(s)

Either click on more sharing options and then embed
Or click on share info to the right of the image and then copy the HTML embed code (you can just click the copy link button to the right)
(f) Log out quickly when you have finished, so other students can log in and upload their images…
